HERE: I AM
IN SEARCH OF A HOME
In light of the recent tragic events in Israel, our thoughts and blessings go out to all those who have lost loved ones and those who are still seeking answers.
We've decided to dedicate this show to support Israel and to showcase a different facet of Israel through art.
Join us this Wednesday, October 11th, 6-8 PM, for our exhibition dedicated to supporting Israel.
Let's come together, stay strong, and unite as one.
Starta Arta, in collaboration with Israeli curator Maayan Levi, is pleased to announce the opening of "Here: I AM," an ambitious exhibition that explores the theme of identity and immigration. The exhibition features works by 23 Israeli artists living in Israel and the United States.
Israeli artists, as citizens and immigrants, presently find themselves living in a multicultural world. Their feeling of identity, their sense of belonging as cultural, political and/or religious Israelis is fluid, flexible, and evolving. The exhibition will expose the artists’ personal conflicts while they examine questions such as: Am I truly living according to my values? Am I free to be who I want to be? Does my environment influence my beliefs? Do I belong?
The exhibition features various mediums and works highlighting the journey toward becoming our authentic selves. By examining the themes of identity and immigration, “Here: I AM" aims to encourage artists and viewers alike to reflect on their own experiences and perspectives, explore the complexity of cultures, beliefs, politics, and to ignite meaningful conversations.
The artists in this show include:
Pnina Afik (Israel), Pesya Altman (USA, NY), Uzi Amrani (Israel), Rinat Davidovich (Israel), Laila Abd Elrazaq (Israel), Dalit Gurevich (USA, NY), Noa Hagiladi (USA, PA), Karina Hananeia (Israel), Mark Kanovich (Israel), Anat Keinan (Israel), Michael Liani (Israel), Lilac Madar (USA, NY), Shahar Marcus (Israel), Tali Margolin (USA, NY), Avital Meshi (USA, CA), Nofar Noifeld (Israel), Anne Ben Or (Israel), Nadia-Adina Rose (Israel), Yael Serlin (Israel), Paz Sher (Israel), Yana Stup (Israel), Caron Tabb (USA, MA), Andrei & Anna Zeigarnik (Israel).
